Gravida Principal Investigator Professor Lesley McCowan's wide range of exciting community health research partnerships has been profiled in the latest University of Auckland's "Science Works Wonders" video series on YouTube.
Professor McCowan's work trying to prevent and treat gestational diabetes in pregnancy is explained in the short video, which also features representatives from the National Heart Foundation and Counties Manukau DHB.

Some of the work trialling interventions with probiotics and nutrition that is discussed in the video is part-funded by Gravida. Gravida is also proud to partner with the Heart Foundation and its Pacific Heartbeat team on its new workforce development project. Counties Manukau is also one of the other service providers awarded under the wider Ministry of Health maternal and child funding programme.
