University of Auckland Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Gravida board member Distinguished Professor Jane Harding is profiled in the lead story of university publication Auckland Now (September 2013) this issue for her work on the CHYLD research project.
CHYLD (Children with hypoglycaemia and their later development) is an ongoing, long-term study that is part-funded by Gravida and linked to several clinical trials and studies underway with other Gravida researchers, including the dextrose gel trials with newborns (see more here and a recent media story on a related paper here).
The story explains that the CHYLD study has now also received funding from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) in recognition of the global impact on clinical practice it's results and recommendations may carry.
